Daya Bay (simplified Chinese: 大亚湾; traditional Chinese: 大亞灣; Mandarin Pinyin: Dàyà Wān; Jyutping: daai6aa3 waan1), formally known as Bias Bay,[1] is a body of water located east of Hong Kong in Guangdong Province in southern People's Republic of China. Daya Bay is home to four nuclear reactors, two each belonging to the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant and the Ling Ao Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment. Daya Bay is located at approximately . Dapeng Peninsula lays at the east side of Daya Bay.
The Bay was a hideout of pirates in the 1920s when the Republic of China government was busy with Northern Expedition[2].
